Foster a painting

FAQs: Foster An Artwork

What does it mean to foster a painting

1

Over the next year, I'll be spending time outside of California and would rather see these paintings living in homes and workplaces than sitting in storage.

The Foster Program allows you to take home a selected artwork and display it for one year at no cost. My only request is that the work be cared for and remain on display in your home or office.

At the end of the year, you can return the artwork, purchase it outright, or continue through a lease-to-own program at the artwork's current value, even if my prices increase in the future.

This program is built on trust and the belief that artwork is meant to be lived with. My hope is simply that these pieces continue to be seen, enjoyed, and become part of people's daily lives

Are the altadena rubbings up for foster?

2

No, not at this time. Only the works listed above are currently available for fostering.

Other than the Altadena drawings. If a work is listed for sale elsewhere but does not appear on the foster list, it means someone has already committed to fostering it.

Fostered works remain available for purchase, and may become available for lease again after they are returned.

How will you decide who gets what?

3

I’ll look at requests a they come in. The earlier you express interest the better.

What Does it mean to care for the work?

4

Caring for the artwork is pretty simple: keep it indoors, keep it on display, and treat it with the same care you would give any valuable piece of art in your home or office. The work should be protected from water, excessive heat, humidity, and other conditions that could cause damage. Please don't alter, repair, or modify the piece without checking with me first. If something happens to the artwork, just let me know as soon as possible.
